Ingredients
- 1 full bag (150g dry) It’s White Rice Blend
- 2 tablespoons olive oil or neutral oil
- 1 medium onion, finely chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 medium carrot, diced
- 1 teaspoon ground cumin
- ½ teaspoon ground turmeric or paprika (optional, for color)
- 1 pound (450g) ground beef or diced beef/lamb (lean preferred)
- 3 cups water or low-sodium broth
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Fresh parsley or cilantro for garnish (optional)

Instructions
- Sauté the aromatics:Heat oil in a large pan or deep skillet over medium heat. Add onions and cook for 3–4 minutes until softened. Add garlic and carrots, sauté for another 2 minutes.
- Cook the meat:Add the ground or diced meat. Break it up with a spatula (if ground) and cook until browned and no longer pink. Season with cumin, turmeric or paprika, salt, and pepper.
- Add rice blend:Stir in the dry It’s White Rice Blend and toast lightly for 1 minute to absorb flavor.
- Simmer:Add 3 cups of water or broth. Bring to a boil, then reduce heat to low, cover, and simmer for 5 minutes (or according to your rice blend’s instructions) until rice is tender and liquid is absorbed.
- Fluff and finish:Turn off the heat and let the pilaf sit, covered, for 2–3 minutes. Then fluff gently with a fork.
- Garnish and serve:Top with chopped parsley or cilantro if desired, and serve warm with a side salad or steamed vegetables.
